The Madrid World Capital of Construction, Engineering and Architecture Association (MVCC) and the Sonrisas Association have donated more than 350 toys to the Ballesol Mirasierra Nursing Home for the Elderly (Madrid).
This action is part of the different solidarity projects that MWCC and Asociación Sonrisas develop in different health and social facilities and also in residential and care environments.
MWCC has developed during Christmas 2021 a social program based on the collection of toys for children, cognitive toys, food, clothing, and various materials donated by individuals and companies. The recipients have been channeled through churches, Caritas, Messengers of Peace and third sector associations. “Madrid World Capital Cooperation” has managed to collect more than 12,000 toys donated by various public and private entities.
For MWCC, the donation made to Ballesol is fundamental for the establishment of a work agreement between both entities, for the benefit of the residents of this company specialized in the care of the elderly.
Through this solidarity campaign, more than 140 elderly people from the Mirasierra residence will benefit from the practice of playful games, the transmission of values and habits that promote active and healthy aging. From Ballesol they highlight the importance of “having new tools and possibilities of intervention that enrich the free time of residents with therapeutic and preventive actions”.
