• This is an initiative that aims to promote the positioning of Madrid and Spain as a world benchmark in the field of engineering, construction and architecture.

Holcim Spain has just joined the Madrid World Capital Association (MWCC), an ecosystem of public-private collaboration with the aim of promoting the positioning of Madrid and Spain as a world benchmark in the field of urban solutions.

With its incorporation into this association -which already has more than 160 partner and collaborating entities-, the company takes another step in its commitment to building sustainable and carbon-neutral cities.

Holcim will actively collaborate in those initiatives promoted by the MWCC with a focus on the field of sustainable construction, contributing its know-how in all those actions linked to promoting the recovery of waste and the achievement of the “Zero Waste” certificate in the sector the construction.

In the words of Mariano García, director of Sustainability at Holcim Spain, “being part of this innovation and sustainability hub allows us to continue consolidating ourselves as leaders in innovative and sustainable solutions for construction, taking the necessary steps towards the decarbonisation of the construction sector and its transformation to build better with less”.

According to the president of Madrid Capital Mundial, David Garcia Nuñez, “the adhesion of HOLCIM represents a key incorporation within the leading entities in innovative and sustainable construction solutions. We will take advantage of the synergies of both entities to continue implementing decarbonization projects in cities through infrastructures”.
