The Alcorcón Municipal Employment Institute joins the Madrid World Capital project for the creation of an innovation laboratory in the city
The Alcorcón City Council, through its autonomous body for the economic development of the city, the Municipal Employment Institute (IMEPE-Alcorcón), has joined the Madrid World Capital (MWCC) entity.
The objective of the adhesion contemplates the creation of an innovation laboratory where creative, efficient and sustainable proposals will be carried out that will promote the many challenges that Alcorcón must face as a strategic city in the south of the region as well as an essential part of the much-needed Territorial rebalancing of the Community of Madrid.
MWCC, as an entity promoted by the Madrid City Council and the Community of Madrid, aims to position the city of Madrid, as well as Spain, as an international reference center in education, training and R+D+i. Position the city of Madrid, as well as Spain, as an international center for specialized arbitration. Consolidate the Spanish presence in the markets of developed countries and strengthen the position in those with less presence, strengthening the position of Spanish professionals as an international reference in urban solutions, financing, legal matters and good practices. Retain Spanish companies and talent, and specifically in the city of Madrid. In this way, Raquel Rodriguez Tercero, president of IMEPE, and David García Núñez, president of MWCC, undertook to join forces and synergies to implement proposals and innovative and sustainable projects in terms of urban solutions, which will undoubtedly have an impact on the quality of life of the residents of Alcorcón.
“Our policy is clear: generate all possible alliances to put Alcorcón on the map and generate synergies so that our municipality leads the repair of the territorial gap in the Community of Madrid. We celebrate this agreement and hope that it will open up a universe of possibilities for us to promote projects that have a positive impact on the neighbors of our municipality”, highlighted Raquel Rodríguez, Councilor for Economic Development, Training and Employment, as well as President of IMEPE.
For the president of MWCC, David Garcia Nuñez “with the accession of Alcorcón, we continue to work on the “territorial diamonds” of the Community of Madrid: Tres Cantos, Alcobendas, Alcorcón. This will allow us to work in Madrid Metropoli 2040, where the municipalities in the south of the region play a key role in Madrid’s economy as well as in its social development”.
The Municipal Institute for Employment and Economic Promotion of Alcorcón (IMEPE ALCORCÓN), is an Autonomous Body of the Alcorcón City Council regulated by its own Statutes.
