The Madrid World Capital Association of Construction, Engineering and Architecture and Global Shappers Spain, have launched the project “35 under 35”. The aim of the project is to draw up a list of the most influential engineers and architects in Spain and Madrid.
For both entities, talent, innovation and the capacity to transform cities and business ecosystems is fundamental, and constitutes a necessary lever of change for the growth of society.
To be able to participate in the project, engineers and architects must be under 35 years old, be a road, canal and port engineer; technical engineer in public works; architect. Have a strong vocation for improving the quality of life through the design of infrastructures and buildings and be strongly committed to Madrid and its international positioning. They must be aware that innovation is the key to the present and the future of society.
On the part of a prestigious jury made up of members of public and private entities, they will analyze the candidatures and make a list of the “35 under 35” most relevant engineers and architects, having an impact on different media.
An annual exhibition will be held with the projects or challenges that the “35 under 35” have developed.
The deadline for submitting candidatures will begin on February 4 and end on February 28, being able to present their candidacies at www.madridwcc.com
About MWCC
The Madrid World Capital Association of Engineering, Construction and Architecture, is a project promoted by the Madrid City Council in 2016, it is an Association formed by public and private entities, companies, universities, architecture studios and engineering companies.
Our project was born with the purpose of improving the quality of life of citizens, enhancing the sectors in which Madrid had a competitive advantage and, at the same time, met two requirements: high qualification of human resources and intensive use of technology . Thanks to more than 100 interviews with experts and different round tables, we drew up a Strategic Plan for the Sector for Madrid, the first milestone of which was the constitution on March 4 of the Association «Madrid World Capital of Construction, Engineering and Architecture ». This document includes three main objectives: to promote these activities in the City and in Spain, to consolidate the international leadership of our companies and to make Madrid visible as the world reference center in our sector.
We believe that we are not fully aware of the enormous potential that resides in the City and, through this project, we want to take advantage of the entire ecosystem of Madrid, unique in the world, to achieve the objectives indicated above and thus contribute to a greater well-being of the population.
The vision of this project is comprehensive and transversal. About Global Shapers
Born within the World Economic Forum, the Global Shapers Community is an exclusive network of young future leaders between the ages of 16 and 30 who work to seek, understand and face local, regional and global challenges.
