MWCC promotes the Architecture Madrid Awards for the second year running

For the second consecutive year, Madrid has become the world capital of architecture with the celebration of the Architecture Madrid Awards (AMA). The event brought together leading figures in the sector to recognise excellence and innovation in the fields of architecture, interior design and design.

In a very short time, the AMA has established itself as an international benchmark for the recognition of creativity, innovation and professional excellence. Promoted by CEIDA (China Europe International Design Association) and organised by the SHAMELESS agency, in collaboration with Madrid World Capital (MWCC), the AMA was created with the aim of celebrating architecture as a transformative discipline, capable of redefining cities and improving people's lives.

As in the previous edition, one of the highlights of the event is the jury, made up of an exceptional group of architects and designers of recognised national and international prestige. The panel includes Carlos Lamela, Carlos Rubio Carvajal, Lázaro Rosa-Violán, Tristán López-Chicheri (L35 Arquitectos), Paloma Sobrini, José Antonio Granero (Estudio Entreabierto), Eva Longoria (Grupo Rockwell), César Vidal (Cabeza & Sastre), Ignacio Vicens (Vicens & Ramos), María José Piccio (Director General of Housing and Rehabilitation of the Community of Madrid), Álvaro Estúñiga (Archidom Studio) and Ángel Cava (Modular Home).

A cast of top-level figures, many of whom are returning participants, representing the best in talent, innovation and experience in the field of architecture and design, reinforcing the unique character and international reach of these awards.

The different categories of the awards, from ‘architecture’ and ‘interior design’ to ‘product’, have recognised projects and careers that stand out for their creativity, innovation and contribution to the sector, with no geographical limits or restrictions on the number of entries submitted. The awards will be given at different levels and may include special mentions, recognising both technical excellence and artistic vision and commitment to sustainability.

Background

On 28 July 2023, the agreement to hold this event was made public, which from the outset sought to establish itself as a benchmark in the field of architecture and design. The first gala took place on 30 October 2024 at the COAM, the Official College of Architects of Madrid, and brought together more than 200 guests from the sector, establishing itself as an essential meeting point for national and international professionals.

During that first edition, the AMA established itself as a platform that recognises talent, innovation and excellence in architecture. After passing through cities such as Milan, Paris, Los Angeles and Beijing, the AMA has now arrived in Madrid.
