The Casa de México in Spain was the setting for the Mexico-Spain business meeting, a high-level event that brought together prominent representatives from the legal, business and institutional world to strengthen economic and strategic ties between the two countries.

Organised by Gómez-Acebo & Pombo, Fundación Casa de México en España and CBRE Spain, the event focused on the positioning of Madrid as a global capital, an epicentre of innovation and a preferred destination for international investment.

The conference counted with the participation of MWCC, whose president, David García Núñez, shared strategic visions on the international positioning of Madrid, as well as the key role of public-private collaboration in the promotion of the city as an engine of economic growth. He also highlighted the opportunities that Madrid offers as a pole of attraction for global companies, thanks to its ecosystem of talent, infrastructures and international projection.

During the event, fiscal and legal keys for business development between Mexico and Spain were also discussed, as well as real success stories that reflect the strength and dynamism of this bilateral relationship.

Madrid was the undisputed protagonist of the meeting. The Spanish capital has experienced sustained economic growth, becoming the fourth strongest regional economy in the European Union, according to the latest Eurostat data. The Community of Madrid has overtaken regions such as Eastern and Midland (Ireland), Lazio (Italy) and Rhône-Alpes (France), consolidating its position as the most important region in southern Europe.

This economic leadership is also reflected in the labour market, where Madrid leads in job creation and GDP growth, reinforcing its position as a strategic hub for international companies.

The conference reaffirmed the shared objective of promoting a stronger, more connected Ibero-American business community, ready to face the global challenges of the future.
