MMWCC participated in the high-level online event organised by the European Cluster Collaboration Platform (ECCP) on behalf of the European Commission. The meeting, entitled ‘EU Clusters Talk: European Investment Agenda – Mobilising Capital for Innovation and Industrial Transformation’, brought together experts and institutional representatives from across Europe to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the European Investment Agenda.

During the session, David García Núñez, president of MWCC, participated as a panellist in the debate focused on how the European Investment Agenda seeks to mobilise capital to drive innovation and the green and digital transitions. In his speech, García Núñez addressed one of the key issues of the debate: ‘Is Europe already a single market for SME financing? Can start-ups or scale-ups access financing through European markets?’

He stressed that, despite the progress made through initiatives such as the Capital Markets Union (CMU), Europe still does not have a fully integrated single market for SME financing, although he also highlighted the progress achieved.

In this regard, he stressed the importance of continuing to promote European policies that foster financial integration and cooperation between different business ecosystems.
