MWCC Participates in Madrid During the 4th Capital Tourism Forum
MWCC actively participated in the fourth edition of the City of Madrid Tourism Forum, a key event that brings together public administrations, companies, and industry leaders to analyze current trends, management challenges, and the future of the capital’s tourism industry.
During the forum—which was closed by Madrid’s mayor, José Luis Martínez-Almeida—the close relationship between the success of the city’s tourism ecosystem and the development of modern, accessible, and sustainable urban planning was highlighted. In this context, MWCC emphasized the crucial role of engineering and architecture as drivers of urban transformation to accommodate quality tourism that coexists in perfect harmony with residents.
The forum served to confirm the excellent momentum currently enjoyed by tourism in Madrid, now firmly established as one of the world’s most attractive urban destinations. The capital’s strategy seeks not only to break visitor records but also to prioritize the decentralization of tourist flows, an increase in average spending per tourist, and environmental and social sustainability. To achieve these objectives, urban design and mobility solutions are indispensable.
The forum served to highlight the excellent state of tourism in Madrid, which has now established itself as one of the world’s most attractive urban destinations. The capital’s strategy aims not only to break visitor records but also to prioritize the decentralization of tourist flows, an increase in average spending per tourist, and environmental and social sustainability. To achieve these goals, urban design and mobility solutions are essential.
MWCC, as a leading platform for public-private collaboration that positions Madrid as a major global hub for urban solutions, contributed its technical and strategic vision to the panel discussions. The association argued that a world-class tourist destination requires resilient infrastructure, smart connectivity, and cutting-edge urban regeneration projects.
"The tourism of the future cannot be understood in isolation from the city’s own design. Quality hotel accommodations, new pedestrian zones, the transformation of heritage sites, and efficient transportation are engineering and architectural projects that make the Madrid experience possible,“ MWCC notes. ”Our participation in this forum reinforces the association’s commitment to providing innovative solutions that balance the economic dynamism of tourism with human well-being and sustainability."
By participating in the 4th City of Madrid Tourism Forum, MWCC is cementing its role not only as a driving force in the construction and infrastructure sectors, but also as an essential cross-sectoral player in designing new models for smart, circular, and tourism-responsible cities.
