MWCC organises together with the Community of Madrid the Franco-Spanish Business Day
MWCC, together with the Community of Madrid and the Metropoli Foundation, have organised the French-Spanish Business Day. An event dedicated to the decarbonisation of the construction sector. The event is part of the efforts to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, a target set by the European Union. The construction sector is responsible for one third of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere. Therefore, the adoption of innovative techniques and materials is essential to reduce this carbon footprint. During the event, representatives of innovative French companies will present their proposals and advanced technologies to meet this challenge.
The programme included the participation of the Minister of Environment, Agriculture and Interior of the Community of Madrid; Jean-Luc Gardaz, Director of the Franco-Spanish Chamber of Commerce and CEO of Saint-Gobain for Mediterranean Countries; and David García Núñez, President of MWCC. Naiara Vegara, Vice-President of Fundación Metrópoli, also participated in the event by welcoming the more than 30 accredited French and Spanish companies.
During the day, the main urban developments in the Community of Madrid were presented, such as Madrid Nuevo Norte, Valgrande - Los Carriles and Nuevo Brunete, as well as different exhibitions of French companies such as ActivHome, Balle Concept, Binderholz, Biosys, Immoblade, Kline, Materr'up, Neolife and Schilliger, which have shown their innovative and sustainable solutions.
In the words of the President of MWCC, David Garcia Nuñez, ‘this conference follows the continuity of the different agreements developed with countries such as Finland, Ireland, Germany, United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Denmark and France. Madrid hosts more than 70% of international investment and is undoubtedly a window of opportunity for investment, innovation and sustainability’.
