Healthy Cities celebrates its 10th edition with the challenge of investing half a million euros in regenerating cities by making them healthier

This year, Healthy Cities, the initiative promoted by Sanitas, celebrates a special edition as it celebrates a decade of promoting healthy lifestyles and more sustainable urban environments. In 2025, the programme renews its commitment with an investment of more than 500,000 euros in urban regeneration projects, involving companies and employees in a double challenge: walking 6,000 steps a day and leaving the car at home at least once a week.

The challenge starts on 1 May and will run until 30 June. On Saturday 26 April, a solidarity walk will take place in Madrid's Casa de Campo, with the participation of Olympic and Paralympic athletes Saúl Craviotto and Eva Moral.

In addition to Madrid, there will also be walks in Bilbao on 10 May and Zaragoza on 17 May.

This year, the programme is launching a new mobile application, now available for download, with improved functionalities and real-time synchronisation. Participants will be able to vote for the urban projects that will receive funding, as well as track their progress and achievements.

Consistent effort will be rewarded with medals: bronze: 30 days completing the challenge; silver: 40 days; gold: 55 days, with the possibility of entering a draw for a trip to a natural site in Spain.

Among the entities participating in this edition is MWCC, which enthusiastically joins the commitment to build more active, sustainable and healthy cities.
