MWCC joins the Civic and Social Council of the Landscape of Light
On 30 September, Madrid City Council unanimously approved the creation of three collegiate bodies for the Paseo del Prado and Buen Retiro, Landscape of Arts and Sciences: the World Heritage Commission, the Scientific Committee and the Civic and Social Council, regulating their composition and functioning through publication in the Official Gazette of the Madrid City Council (BOAM No. 9,996, of 30 October 2025).
Among the entities that will form part of the new Civic and Social Council is MWCC, which will serve as a member alongside leading institutions such as the Prado National Museum, the Royal Botanical Garden, the Official College of Architects of Madrid and the Royal Spanish Academy.
The creation of this body responds to UNESCO's recommendations to strengthen social participation in the management of the World Heritage Site, creating a space for dialogue, deliberation and collaboration between the administrations and entities linked to the Landscape of Light.
The presence of MWCC on this Council reaffirms its commitment to urban innovation, sustainability and public-private collaboration, contributing to the protection, dissemination and international promotion of one of the most emblematic cultural sites in Madrid and the world.
