MWCC has joined the Cities Forum's Alliance for Urban Innovation. New urban challenges are complex and require urgent solutions based on innovation, public-private partnerships, citizen collaboration and efficient management of technical and human resources, with the aim of improving citizens' quality of life, human well-being and sustainable urban development.

Urban spaces designed in accordance with the recommendations of the United Nations Urban Agenda and the 2030 Agenda and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (especially Goal 11 on sustainable cities and Goal 17 on partnerships) implement tools based on available technologies to develop transformations in their territories that offer responses to major challenges, such as climate change adaptation and mitigation, safe and sustainable mobility, quality of life, connectivity, green and circular economy, international positioning, etc.

The Alliance for Urban Innovation (AIU) is an initiative of the MADRID IFEMA Cities Forum and was created with the aim of generating permanent meeting spaces between different organisations and public administrations to advance the proactive debate on the construction of innovative cities focused on sustainable development. It is an open, cross-cutting and dynamic space that will help local authorities, companies and professionals from different disciplines to transform their territories in an innovative way.

The presentation event brought together institutional representatives from the cities of Rome, Stockholm, Helsinki and Vienna, as well as key players in the urban ecosystem, to discuss and share innovative solutions that promote the development of smarter, more inclusive and sustainable cities. During the conference, strategic issues were addressed, such as the digitisation of public services, connected mobility, the use of urban data, citizen participation through digital tools and public-private collaboration to accelerate the change towards a more efficient and people-centred city.

Our participation reflects MWCC's firm commitment to urban innovation, sustainable development and the construction of a more connected, modern Madrid that is prepared for the challenges of the future.

The forum featured the participation of leading institutional figures, as well as leaders from the business and academic worlds, consolidating itself as a benchmark for dialogue and joint action towards the digital transformation of our cities.
