MWCC celebrates its 5th Annual Meeting of Members and Collaborating Organisations

Madrid Capital Mundial MWCC held its 5th Annual Meeting of Members and Collaborating Entities this afternoon at Alfonso X el Sabio University (UAX), a well-established event that brings together representatives from the public, private and academic sectors to reflect on the challenges and opportunities of the urban, industrial and construction ecosystem of the Community of Madrid.

The event featured an institutional address by María José Piccio-Marchetti Prado, Director General of Housing and Rehabilitation for the Community of Madrid, who offered the regional government's vision on promoting housing, sustainable rehabilitation and innovation in construction processes.

Subsequently, the first round table was held under the title ‘Cross-cutting debate: industrialised construction’, moderated by David García Núñez, president of MWCC. Participants included Carlos Aguirre Roses (UAX), Miguel Fernández Ruiz (UPM), Juan Tébar Molinero (Caminos Madrid) and Jorge Servet (COIIM), who agreed on the importance of industrialisation as a driver of transformation in the sector, highlighting its role in improving the sustainability, efficiency and productivity of construction processes.

The second round table, entitled ‘New proposals (materials and/or processes)’, was moderated by Ángel Zarabozo, vice-president of MWCC, and featured contributions from Carlos Fernández Navarro (IECA), Francisco José Domouso (UEM) and Eneritz Barreiro (Tecnalia). The experts analysed the latest trends in innovative materials and technological processes applied to construction, emphasising the need to strengthen collaboration between universities, technology centres and companies to promote smarter and more sustainable construction.

During the meeting, various MWCC directors presented the projects and lines of work developed by the organisation throughout the year, highlighting the cooperation between partners and the positive impact of joint initiatives on the business and institutional fabric of Madrid. The event was closed by José Polimón, Honorary President of MWCC.

With this event, MWCC reaffirms its commitment to public-private collaboration, sustainable innovation and the promotion of talent in the urban, industrial and technological spheres, consolidating Madrid as an international benchmark in the development of sustainable and smart cities.
