  • Veolia and MWCC will work together to promote decarbonization in the face of the challenge of the cities of the future

Veolia, a world leader in efficient energy, water and waste management, and the Madrid Capital Mundial association (MWCC), have joined forces with the aim of sharing synergies and knowledge to create an ecosystem that allows promoting focused solutions in innovation, sustainability and the circular economy in the capital. In this way, it seeks to contribute to consolidating Madrid’s leadership as a benchmark city and region, taking advantage of its competitive advantages.

Through this alliance, Veolia and MWCC come together to face the great challenge of designing and promoting the solutions demanded by the cities of the future, in which the growing urbanization, the increase in climate catastrophes and the growing pressure on natural resources require that new measures be adopted with sustainability at the center of the strategy and based on new circular economy models that are decisive for its dynamism and attractiveness.

As a strategic partner of municipalities, Veolia works closely with public administrations, providing support and comprehensive advice to efficiently adapt to regulatory changes. The company encourages and proposes the adoption of practices that are respectful of the environment and promotes efficient use of resources with solutions that allow the reduction of the carbon footprint.

According to Aránzazu Martín Pérez, Veolia’s director of New Market Development: “We are proud and enthusiastic about our incorporation into the Madrid Capital Mundial association, which will allow us to continue strengthening our clear commitment to sustainability. In addition, this alliance is one more example of the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors, to move together towards the decarbonization objectives that society demands of us and to which we have the obligation to respond.”

For David Garcia Nuñez, president of MWCC, “Veolia’s membership is a clear commitment by the entity to the implementation and development of innovative, sustainable projects in cities. It is a clear commitment to the creation of urban solutions that improve the quality of life of citizens”.
