MWCC participates in the inauguration of the 22nd International Architecture Week

MWCC is participating in the opening of the 22nd International Architecture Week, organised by the Official Association of Architects of Madrid (COAM) and its foundation, in collaboration with Madrid City Council. Until 13 October, it will host around 300 free activities that bring architecture closer to the public and highlight Madrid's urban heritage.

The Madrid City Council has scheduled guided tours of unique sites of Madrid's architectural heritage, such as Matadero Madrid, the Hexagon Pavilion, El Capricho Park and Quinta de los Molinos. These tours will allow the public to appreciate the historical and architectural value of buildings and gardens that are usually less accessible to citizens.

The municipal programme is rounded off with a monographic exhibition dedicated to Luis Gutiérrez Soto (1900–1977), one of the most influential and prolific architects of the 20th century. The exhibition, installed on the Paseo de Fernán Núñez in the Retiro Park, uses explanatory panels to showcase some of his most outstanding achievements, such as the Callao Cinema, the Barceló Cinema, the Chicote bar, the Ministry of Air, the Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes Nursery and the Defence Staff Headquarters, as well as various residential complexes that transformed the image of Madrid's expansion.

MWCC and its partner COAM maintain a fruitful collaboration to position Madrid as an international benchmark in architecture.
