MWCC has participated in the twentieth anniversary of the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC), which is a key instrument to demonstrate how companies and governments address corruption through the implementation of exceptional codes of ethics and conduct. The convention outlined the appropriate measures to fight anti-corruption as well as the keys to good governance as fundamental pillars of a sustainable and inclusive global economy. The necessary actions were established to adopt them as important principles of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. COSP10 was presented at the Convention, a platform that serves as a basis for governments’ debates and decisions on this matter.

The companies were able to demonstrate their ethical leadership and commitment to sustainability, transformational governance, business integrity and the fight against corruption. The actions adopted and implemented by the private sector for the development of anti-corruption resolutions, policies and legal frameworks were amplified. It was addressed how corruption requires a collective approach to action, using public-private interactions as an example, in which an effort has been made to achieve greater transparency, including in the management of conflicts of interest and by preventing undue influence. . It was urged to leverage information and communications technologies (ICT) along with artificial intelligence to manage corruption risks and make evidence-based decisions, while strengthening oversight and transparency.

In conclusion, the promotion of the principles of ethical leadership ensuring the commitment of the business environment to standards of justice and integrity.
